Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale, AZ Promoting Car Warriors on SPEED

A quick interview with Ralph to promote Car Warriors.
I spent the week in Arizona promoting Car Warriors on SPEED, it premiers February 24th. Barrett-Jackson is an event I have been attending for over twenty years. Been both a buyer and a seller, my company has consulted the event on marketing, branding and merchandising.

The event rocks and is packed with excitement every year and 2012 did not disappoint.  Here is a look at the week.

April Rose, Justin Bell and me in the SPEED Social Garage
I did spend time in the SPEED Social Garage where I Tweeted, answered questions and met April Rose and Justin Bell from SPEED. It was fantastic to talk with fans in real time as SPEED added promos for the show live during the Barrett-Jackson coverage.

Just before I crossed the block in this bad boy

This is an ultra rare Ford Thunderbolt with an even more rare Mickey Thompson Ford HEMI motor. I was asked by the owner to take it across the block since I was involved in the restoration years earlier.

Just crossed the block with my friend Bob Bauder, sold for $250k

Bob and I can smile while the car is being bid on because no worries, not our sale. I have sold my own and it can be really nerve- racking!

Why the smile, Larry Dixon's first trip to Barrett-Jackson.

I hung out all week with my good friend Larry Dixon the 3X NHRA Top Fuel Champion. There are some exciting things coming for this guy!
Also, in our gang was Steve Johnson the NHRA Pro-Stock motorcycle champion, he is Mr. Personality.

The legends and Mike Russo (ADESA) myself and Alan Taylor.

We made an appearance at ADESA Auctions in Chandler, Arizona on Wednesday. I was thrilled to be asked to be on the bill with Barry Meguire, Larry Dixon, Steve Johnson and Parnelli Jones.

ADESA was great to us everyone was super nice!

Brad Fanshaw Technical Co-Host on Season 2 of SPEED's Car Warriors

Brad Fanshaw has been filming the new season of Car Warriors for SPEED. The show that debuted in 2011 has been given a new format that pits shops against one another in a 48 hour challenge! The show features less time to build the cars, but provides a much better approach with more tech information and a better look at how these vehicles get built in just a mind-boggling 48 hours.

Fanshaw, brings over twenty-five years of professional custom car design and building experience to the show. As a business partner of the legendary Boyd Coddington from 1987 to 1996 their shop won the prestigious Grand National Roadster Show AMBR award four times. Since 1996 Fanshaw has won numerous awards on his own including both the GM and Ford Design Awards. Additionally, he has founded a leading forged aluminum wheel company, bonspeed Wheels with rock star Michael Anthony of Van Halen and Chickenfoot fame.

Brad Fanshaw brings his management, design and building talents to the show while he is allowed to flex his on-camera presence.  The producers of Car Warriors have chosen Fanshaw to provide teams his expert advice during each build and provide the audience a while-it-happens perspective from his first-hand view. The show is hosted by Jimmy Shine and the two interact throughout each episode along with another lead tech.

Car Warriors will begin airing on SPEED in February 2012.

Brad Fanshaw is the New Host of Rod & Custom Radio
